There comes a point in every bloggers life when he must make a post about twitter. Perhaps it is a right of passage, or maybe not. Here is my twitter post:
In case you do not know, Twitter is a site which allows you to network with fellow bloggers, gamers, and friends. Its sort of like facebooks feeds minus all the useless crap. It has been hailed as ” the next killer app” and the” fastest growing phenomena on the internet” by time magazine and New York Times. If you dont have a profile, you should sign up. While you are at it, add me as a friend.
Once you are signed up, check out sites like problogger and others for information on how to user it for blogging.
Have fun in the wild world of micro-blogging.
The Leet World is a machinima series created by Smooth Few Films. It is a comedy series based upon the counter-strike game. The videos are great for a few laughs.
You can check out all of there videos here.
A few days ago Troyus sent me a link to a site called Source Films. At first the site seemed like nothing at all. Just a boring old splash screen. Once you are on the wiki, a wealth of knowledge is at your hands. Any basic thing you may need is there. This site is definitely worth a bookmark.
IGN has posted an interview with Crytek’s engine business manager.
Take the engine that powered last year’s dazzling (and resource heavy) Crysis and put it in the hands of other developers and what do you get? That’s the question that Crytek is looking to answer as it pushes into the business of providing middleware to other developers with its powerful CryENGINE 2 technology. What does CryENGINE have to offer, and can it work on the consoles? And what’s up next for Crytek?

Thats right, John Cow and Top Hosting Center you have the chance to win the hottest game of the year GTA IV as well as on Xbox 360 elite edition to play it on. That is the BLACK xbox 360 which includes a 120GB Hard drive and HDMI output. The more you spread the word on the contest, the more likely you are at winning it. So fire up your networking tools and let everyone know about this contest.
Just when we thought Top Hosting Center couldn’t possible be any cooler, they messaged us on IM to let us know they’d like to sponsor one of our bigger contests. Obviously they didn’t have to tell us that twice! We’ve negotiated a little and you guys are probably going to be very happy with the outcome. We’re going to give one of our readers a brandnew XBOX360 Elite and a copy of the new Grand Theft Auto IV which is coming out at the end of the month, possibly the most anticipated game of the year!

As you may have noticed, youtube has started offering some videos in a higher quality. What is this and does this mean youtube will eventually go HD?
A few weeks ago youtube rolled out 480×360 video playback. The videos play with less artifacts and are generally better looking. It is a step up from the old resolution.
Will this mean youtube will eventually go HD? Unfortunately no, at least not in the near future. We still dont have a solid replacement for the recently shutdown Stage6.

With the announcement of the Sims 3 this week, one cant but help to wonder whether The Sims 3 will be usable for machinima. As many of you probably know, the previous version of The Sims was used to create machinima with limited success.
What are all of your guys’ view on The Sims 3?
This will be a three part series on the game engines used to film machinima on.
To begin this series, we will explore the past of machinima. A little digging down to the roots.
Stunt Island

This is what really started machinima. Released in 1992 by Disney Interactive, the game allowed people to “stunt” and film there stunts. You could position cameras, create pans as well as splice together taped footage to complete your own little stunt video.
1993 saw the release of Doom. The game was benchmark in many regards. You were now able to record in game events and play them back in real-time.
Today Lit Fuse Films released Melon 3. It is quite an entertaining little short and is worth a view
Youtube link is below or you can always watch in in HD

As somewhat of a shock, Stage6 announced that it will be closing its doors on Thrusday
I’m Tom (aka Spinner), a Stage6 user and an employee of DivX, Inc., the company behind the service. I’m writing this message today to inform you that we plan to shut down Stage6 on February 28, 2008. Upload functionality has already been turned off, and you’ll be able to view and download videos until Thursday.
