Another great film produced by Lit Fuse Films. Hopefully Zach and Rob’s departure to Bioware wont hinder their videos.
IGN has posted an interview with Crytek’s engine business manager.
Take the engine that powered last year’s dazzling (and resource heavy) Crysis and put it in the hands of other developers and what do you get? That’s the question that Crytek is looking to answer as it pushes into the business of providing middleware to other developers with its powerful CryENGINE 2 technology. What does CryENGINE have to offer, and can it work on the consoles? And what’s up next for Crytek?

With the announcement of the Sims 3 this week, one cant but help to wonder whether The Sims 3 will be usable for machinima. As many of you probably know, the previous version of The Sims was used to create machinima with limited success.
What are all of your guys’ view on The Sims 3?
Today Lit Fuse Films released Melon 3. It is quite an entertaining little short and is worth a view

Surely all of you have heard of both Stage6 and Youtube. Both of the sites are online video hosting and sharings sites. Both do have their strengths and weaknesses though.
Stage6
Stage6 is the newer of the two contenders having been launched in 2006. They accept a wide variety of content from tv shows and music videos to movies. Where stage6 really excels though is its ability to host video up to 1080p, something youtube lacks. Stage6 does come with a few down sides though. The search function is somewhat useless, most of the time giving videos irrelevant to your actual search. The site also has far, far fewer visitors.
Youtube
Youtube is probably the poster child of online video hosting and sharing. Launched in 2005, it has become the benchmark. They accept a wide variety of video formats due to encoding server side. Where stage6 is strong is user base, with millions of people using youtube daily, you are bound the get some views on your video. The downsides of youtube are lack of HD video and the large percentage of jun videos currently on youtube.
Perhaps sometime in the future, a youtube/stage6 hybrid can be made, combining the users of youtube with the HD capabilities of stage6. If only this was a utopia.
A short film by Genre d’Abbatoir. Here is the trailer:
This video is from a recent graduate of Vancouver Film School named Francisco Moncayo.
